The Field Marketing Manager, DACH (Germany, Austria and German speaking Switzerland) region, will be responsible for planning, organising and executing marketing programmes to generate new prospects and improve client retention. This position will act as a liaison between DACH sales and marketing, and EMEA marketing. This person will be responsible for executing marketing campaigns to increase product/brand awareness, generate demand resulting in greater sales and profits, track campaign performance and report back.  This person will need to support all company initiatives, give actionable feedback, share best practices and serve as advocate and information source for the company.

  •  Execution of sales-focused lead generation programs across the DACH  is the primary mission, utilizing both online and offline marketing tactics.
  • Develop regional strategy to build awareness and lead generation, maximise budgets, manage product launches, develop new solutions, and associated go-to-market plans for the region.
  • Pipeline management for the pipeline requirement to be delivered from field Marketing.
  • Ensure successful execution of plans.
  • Liaise with sales in the region to ensure they are aware and involved in the marketing activities and feeding back the information insights they collect from customers and prospects.
  • Liaison with all areas of the company, from management team, to ops, to product marketing and product management to enable the development and execution of relevant plans.

If you are strongly metrics driven, creative and willing to get your hands dirty (write a promotional piece, deploy an email, work an event), then this is a perfect opportunity for you to start with a team of 3-4 and grow it quickly.  If you haven't ever used marketing automation tools yourself or are accustomed to large teams and enormous budgets, this may not be a fit for you.  Make no mistake: there is plenty to do and the resources to do it, but the company is a lean, fast-paced startup.

Your profile: 
  • 5+ years of marketing experience, preferably in B2B software.
  • Demonstrated success with DACH-wide marketing programs, executed in local languages.
  • Demonstrated results from lead generation and demand generation campaigns and activities.
  • Experience of managing budgets and multiple suppliers and agencies.
  • Team-oriented.
  •  Working knowledge in marketing tools like WebEx, Pardot, etc.
  • Working knowledge of CRM systems like or SugarCRM.
  • Poise and maturity in front of customers or prospects.
  • Experience collaborating with senior management.
  •  Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • University Degree or similar in Marketing, Communications or relevant field

Further skills & experience

  • 5 years of marketing experience, with the past 3-5 years at a name-brand SaaS, open source, content management company or software company ( E ).
  • Demonstrated success with both direct prospecting activities and company-branded events across DACH as well as channel (partner) marketing management ( E ).
  • Demonstrated results from lead generation and demand generation campaigns and activities, including multi-step campaigns that span weeks or months ( E ).
  • Experience of creating and delivering marketing strategies ( E ).
  • Experience of all areas of the marketing mix, with a strong focus on demand generation with proven results ( E ).
  • Great team success: demonstrated examples of where your team has accomplished big objectives as a team, and how you lead that team to success ( E ).
  • Hands-on experience with marketing automation tools of some kind: email marketing, google Analytics, lead management, etc. examples include Marketo, Pardot, Omniture, Eloqua, Salesforce, etc. ( E ).
  • Working knowledge and experience of modern CRM systems, including either or SugarCRM ( D ).
  • Demonstrated network of go-to agencies and contractors that you can quickly tap to accomplish objectives (D).
  • Experience collaborating with senior management on go-to-market strategy and planning.
  • A sense for your "favorite metrics" for measuring marketing program effectiveness and contribution of marketing programs to the business (D ).
  • Demonstrated examples of good collaboration with remote peers and executives, from across the globe.
  • Poise and maturity in front of customers or prospects, and occasionally as our speaker(E) .

  • This role will report to the Director of Marketing for EMEA & APAC although it is expected that the individual will work largely independently.
  • 30-40% travel, mainly in the DACH region.
